Kahane Foundation announces Covid-19 Relief Fund (CRF)

Beyond their current funding activities, the Kahane Foundation has committed CHF 4 Million to combat the impact of Covid-19 within its geographic regions of focus. The Kahane Foundation has set up a Covid-19 Relief Fund (CRF) to:

  • Strengthen partners in combating the repercussions of the virus and support them in their Covid-19 response work;
  • Strengthen civil society organizations that are doing an excellent job in addressing the needs of their communities.

Thematic Focus

Based on current events, funding in 2020 will focus on the themes of “Accessibility,” “Migration / Integration” and “Social Mobility.”

  • Accessibility: Promoting and improving the emotional well-being, self-determination and inclusion of persons with disabilities through:
  • Migration / Integration: Fostering self-sufficiency, integration and well-being for migrants through:
    • Inclusive and innovative education;
    • Access to quality mental health care.
  • Social Mobility: Offering a path to self-sufficiency to the weakest in society trough:
    • Inclusive and innovative education;
    • Access to quality health care.

Geographic Focus

Kahane Foundation currently has a focus on projects in the following regions:


  • The foundation does not consider applications from individuals or for projects in the fields of culture, art, nature and sports.

Procedure for New Projects

  • All applicants for new projects are required to use the First-Step application form — the link to which can be found at the bottom of the page on their website during the application period.
  • The First-Step application form is often evaluated immediately upon submission, and shortly afterwards applicants can expect a reply with either an invitation to fill the Second-Step application form or a decision to decline the project for funding.
